Grand Canyon / Havasu Falls   April 2004

Tuesday April 7 in the morning: Tonto Bench Trail

In the morning all of the group excepting Marina and myself took a hike on the Tonto Bench Trail, a trail that runs parallel to the river, but on the next flat level up from the river floor.

As we did not get pictures, all of the pictures come from other members of the group. I also approximated on the map the path of the hike.

Pictures come from Jim and Diane

From Jim, the campsite, with our tent moved up from the river. If you look carefully through the trees, you can see one other tent. The rest are hidden by the trees.

    Havasu falls (from Jim)

From Jim, looking down valley from Mooney Falls. The river has done an impressive job at cutting a vertical canyon. We hiked this canyon to Beaver Falls on Wednesday.
