Paris - April 2019 - April 7 Giverny - Vernon

We took the Metro from Gare de Lyon to Gare Saint-Lazare and then SNCF out to Vernon. We walked from Vernon to Giverny. This gave us an advantage that by the time we got to the gardens, we were off schedule from the bus that takes you from the train station to the gardens, so the line for the entry ticket was shorter and the gardens less crowded. We also walked back, allowing plenty of time for the return train.

Saint-Lazare

I put this in only because Monet painted a similar scene

Giverny

The gardens are on two sides of the road through Giverny. On the side with the house, it is basically flower beds. On the other side, Monet used an irrigation ditch to make the lilly pad gardens.

Back in Vernon the church is quite old, 12th century it was started:

So of course I took some more gargoyles
