Aug 6 - Morning Raft, Afternoon just lazy - some of the group to the Dog Sled demonstration

In the morning, we broke camp at the Grizzly Bear Campground. The plan was that Ophir and Kyle would move the tents to inside the park at the Savage River Campground in the afternoon. In the morning we went rafting on the Nenana River. The weather was terrible, with a constant cold drizzle. Suffice it to say that this raft trip was not nearly as good as the one we went on at the Matanuska River. In the afternoon, Marina and I hung out at the visitors center to stay dry as I was coming down with a cold. Some of the group went to see the dog sled demonstration. I wish I could have gone, but there was no shelter. While we were staying dry, Ophir and Kyle set up camp, and Kyle started on dinner. The group though voted to go to a restaurant instead and stay dry and drink. We then spent our last night in the tents.

The campground location is here:

In theory according to Google Earth, the mountain would be visible in the distance in clear weather. Needless to say that did not happen.
