The day like the others in the trip was overcast with a low ceiling
and occasional drizzle. Despite that, I kept my hopes up that we would
be able to see the mountain. We had tickets on the bus to Fish Creek,
which is a good ways into the park, but not as far as Wonder Lake. The
buses start running as early as 5:30 in the morning this time of year,
but we were on a relatively late bus of 9:30am. This got to Fish Creek
at 1:00pm. We were told to be back at the bus center by 7 to 7:30pm, so
I was worried about how much time to have near Fish Creek. We all got
off at Stony Dome. Marina and I spent about 30 minutes there, the rest
of the group hiked to the top of the dome. We spent our time taking
pictures of tundra flowers and each other. Some of the flanks of the
mountain could be seen peeking through the clouds.

At this scale it would be like you were flying at an altitude of 150
mile up, space station territory, that is how big the park is.
