Thursday April 7: Navajo Falls and Supai Village

Thursday was basically an easy day as Friday was our hike out.

The morning was a late start for a hike to Navajo Falls, which is just slightly up stream of Havasu Falls. Getting to the falls involved a water crossing. Most of the group prepared to swim at the Falls, but Marina, Jim and myself declined this. We then hiked into the village where we had lunch at the cafe, and bought tee shirts and a stick figure.

After lunch we started back and stopped at the sweat hut, where we were told to go to Gracie's house if we wanted to buy hand made baskets. So we hiked back towards the village, got off the main road and found her house. Her husband showed us her wares. Some were bought by the group. Marina, Diane and I headed back to the village to see what the hotel shop had of Gracie's baskets, and the rest of the group headed back on a different trail that turns into the Tonto Bench trail.

At the hotel, there was only 1 basket, and we bought that one.

We then headed back to camp.

Scenic along the trail, but the sky would not remain blue

In the afternoon, clouds rolled in, but there was still sun on some of the cliffs.
