Pictures of mountains and people

Madalyn and Mike

Madalyn and Mike

Marina with Greys and Torries in the background

The Gore Range (with some of the 10 Mile at the left) via stitching together many photos. Just started our descent, still near the summit.

I took this one as the far meadow that is in the center of the picture (more or less) is the Back Ranch at Keystone, where we were the previous day for Ryan and Kirsten's wedding.

The next series of pictures is partway down at the "first" tree. Still in the Eagles Nest Wilderness.

and Marina joins the youngsters. Ruby Ranch is in the background below Buffalo

I used the flash for this one.

Back outside the wilderness now in the upper meadows where the switchbacks begin. If you look at my various Ptarmigan hikes you will see how the forest has been turning brown over time. In two or three more years it will go from brown to trey as the needles drop.

Looking at "The Thorn". Salmon and Willow Lakes would be to the lower left of this peak. Look back at the main hikes page for various trips we have done there.

This is looking north past The Thorn. The dying Lodgepole stand out against the Aspens and the meadows.

This is from the overlook bench once all of the switchbacks are done. There is a regatta on Lake Dillon

Aspens just before the power lines.

Back to the sage meadows. One of these days I will learn how to take this picture to really capture the flowers in the foreground with the mountains in the background

Another attempt.

One more attempt, the red flower in the foreground is Scarlet Gilia (Gilia aggregata)

Last attempt with Lupine, Scarlet Gilia and others.

From further up the mountain, our houses (Don and Marina the green one in the center and Madalyn's in the lower right). I did not have the big zoom or lots of megapixels.

Finally where the horses graze on Track K:

The "seasoned eye" will see we have trouble getting enough water on this field.
