South Rim

We left Moab in the morning and drove down to the South Rim.  We approached the village not from the south, but rather from the east.

A link to the National Park Service Web Site for the Canyon is here Interestingly enough, if you go and follow the link to their "expanded web pages" you are out of the government domain and into

http://www.thecanyon.com/nps/

This page may be more informative than the government's page.

Despite shopping along the route, we arrived with plenty of daylight left. We did not stay in the park itself, but just outside in Tusayan.

Without much further ado, here are various pictures taken along the way.

First on the east entrance, a reconstruction of the type of towers that the Native Americans built in this area

I should point out that it was hazy while we were there.
